		<description>Thanks,  Lucretia.  History was a favorite subject of Brecht in his plays.  I think he succeeds in making Galileo's history interesting at least in part through humor.  

Brecht also wrote "history" plays about Edward II,  based on Marlowe's earlier version, and about the rise of the Nazi regime, often in the form parables and allegories.</description>
